Interior Revamp in Premià de Dalt

This was a small interior design project consisting of the design of a bar, office and TV / play room. The brief was to design built-in furniture that had a mid-century modern touch with tinted red pine matching the existing joinery, windows and doors of the house. In the office we designed a desk and series of shelving units and filing cabinets supported by black steel bars as the walls were of plasterboard. Due to the existing windows opening inwards, we created cut-outs where the windows open, with infill wooden pieces added to create a continuous desk when the windows are closed. In the TV room we designed a decorative shelving wall with black steel bars supporting wooden shelves, cupboards and a TV nook.

Based on the request from the client to utilise the existing boho cushions, we designed a built-in seat with a series of pull-out drawers on wheels below it which could be used to store the children´s toys. These drawers were designed to be multi-use and can serve as secondary tables or chairs when turned on their heads. The bench was also designed to raise the cushions to a comfortable sofa height, especially for when this space is used by adults and not as a play space. The bar was a Guinness pub-inspired space as per the client´s request and plays with dark grey and bright green hexagonal cement tiles to create a fun and vibrant corner. Due to lack of space, we designed the structural support for the counter as the wine storage unit itself.
