We are working hard in Alicante to finish our project that is completely off-the-grid. This photo shows beautifully how we have treated the old facade of the original farmhouse, which was of stonework but in a condition too poor to leave visible. This has been covered with 8cm cork insulation panels, which have been rendered in cream, with white surrounds for the windows. The new additions to the house, such as a large guest suite with two bedrooms and a kitchen, but also at the back of the house an extension of the living room, a machine room and a laundry room, were built new, and finished with beautiful local stone. The builders immediately noticed how incredibly cool this house remains in the hot Alicante Summer!
